From Mike Bourne: Since the merger of Overton Park UMC and Westcliff UMC to form Arborlawn UMC, the 11:00 a.m. Traditional service has been recorded on video for our shut-ins, those who are otherwise unable to participate in person, or those who celebrated an important event in their church life during the service. Originally the videos were delivered via videotape, but as people have obtained DVD players, DVDs have been produced for distribution.
We are now moving to a new method of delivery to reach a larger audience. In addition to the local delivery of the DVDs of the entire service, as we have been doing for some time, we are working towards posting the scripture lessons and the sermon videos on YouTube with closed captioning available for hearing impaired viewers. We are working on refining this process. Watch for more details in the coming weeks.
To accomplish this change, we would like to engage a few more volunteers in all aspects of the production: video camera operators, video editing, closed captioning editing, quality assurance, and other related tasks. This will help us to avoid overloading those currently participating in the ministry (so they can take an occasional Sunday off) and provide a diversity of experience to the processes.
If you want to volunteer in any of the various areas of the Video Ministry, please contact Sherry Roth (817-731-0701).
