Children’s Ministries: Moses Ministry coming this summer; Vacation Bible Camp July 15-19

 
Children are invited to bring their iPads (or other tablet devices) to church starting later this summer. In July we'll be offering access to Moses Ministry pages developed by our friends at FUMC Azle. The pages developed specifically for tablets by John Han of FUMC Azle allow children to do a variety of faith-based activities, word games, and other lessons from their iPads. We will still offer the children's folders during the church services; this will just be in addition to them. Watch for more details next week about how to log on and participate.

Children’s Ministries: FaithWalk Rotation for June; Vacation Bible Camp July 15-19

 
FAITHWALK SUNDAY SCHOOL ROTATION
 
The Faith of Daniel, Sundays in June
 
“...We must obey God rather than men.” Acts 5:29
 
Join us in Sunday school as we learn about Daniel’s obedience to God, his courage, and his faith in the midst of danger. God took Daniel’s circumstances and turned it all for good. Eventually, the king ordered the world to worship and serve the one true God of Daniel! We will paint portions of the Daniel story on plates, play games, and act out the story using masks and signs. We will learn that Daniel never struggled with whether he would obey God. He chose to please God rather than man. We, too, can pray to God each day and ask for His help to be brave and do what is right.
 
“Then King Darius wrote to all peoples and nations of every language throughout the whole world: May you have abundant prosperity! I make a decree, that in all my royal dominion people should tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: He is the living God, enduring forever. KidsJAM (Joy And Music) Open House May 22
 
KidsJAM (Joy And Music), Arborlawn’s choir for children ages 4 and 5, is holding an Open House at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22. The group meets in Room 133.
 

Parents and other family will see what the KidsJAM children have learned this spring. New 4- and 5-year olds (and 3-year olds who will be 4 by Sept 1, 2013) and their parents are invited to attend as a preview to enrolling in the fall.

We need shepherds to help lead the VBC kids from room to room next week. (Vacation Bible Camp is July 16-20, 9 a.m. to Noon each day.) We have our teachers set and ready, but now we need helpers to direct the children to each room.

Registration deadline July 9 for Vacation Bible Camp and Mission Camp; spots filling up

 
Monday, July 9 is the last day to register kids for Vacation Bible Camp and Mission Camp.
 
Both camps are July 16-20 from 9 a.m. to Noon each day. VBC is free and is for kids Age 3 (as of 9/1/11) through exiting 2nd Grade. Mission Camp is $50 per child and is for kids exiting 3rd through 5th Grades.
 
Please register for both camps as soon as possible. Space is limited for VBC, and spots are filling in fast.

Vacation Bible Camp 2012: join us for "Sky - Everything Is Possible With God!"

 
Attention Arborlawn kids: Make plans to join us July 16-20 (9 am. to Noon each day) for this year’s Vacation Bible Camp: “Sky – Everything Is Possible With God!” All children Ages 3 (as of 9/1/11; must be potty trained) through exiting 2nd Grade are invited to join us for a week of learning about God.

Vacation Bible Camp and Mission Camp both coming soon; volunteers needed for both summer events

Vacation Bible Camp is scheduled this year for July 16-20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. Join us for Sky Bible Camp - Where Everything Is Possible With God. Ages 3 years (by last Sept. 1) through exiting 2nd Grade are invited to join us for this fun week of learning God’s word. You can collect our Bible Buddies: Orville, Rockette, Scout, Pat, and Apollo. We will look for God sightings throughout the week and play games, hear stories, sing songs, and make great crafts. Online registration will open on June 1. VBC is free, but classes are limited and will fill up. Invite a friend, and don’t miss this exciting week!
 

Mission Camp is also July 16-20, also from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Mission Camp is for all kids exiting 3rd Grade through exiting 5th Grade. Each day we will go out into the community to serve others. We will also have some other fun activities along the way. This is a great opportunity to see how you can help in your own city. You will not only learn about these mission opportunities in your area, but give people a hand for the day and learn how you and your family can come back and help later. Invite a friend and join us! Online registration opens June 1; we are limited to the number we can take, so sign up quickly! Cost of Mission Camp is $50 per child.
   
We need adult and student volunteers to help for both of these events. Volunteering for VBC and Mission Camp is a great way to help out at church and give back to the kids. You can help decorate, collect supplies, teach a rotation, plan a day of Mission Camp, shepherd the kids around, or be an actor in the opening day skit. We need you! Vacation Bible Camp decorating this Sunday; VBC starts Monday

Vacation Bible Camp is nearly upon us. It begins this Monday at 9:00 a.m. and runs all week. This year's theme is Shake It Up Cafe - Where Kids Carry Out God's Recipe.
 
We want to say a special thank you to the servants of Christ who spent an entire afternoon, and then some, building and creating the set, recipe cards, fun, and food for Shake It Up Cafe. Kay Keffer, Kristina Keffer, Amy Burdette, and Bette Smith did such great work! Join us Sunday, July 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., as we set out decorations and prepare for the opening of VBC on Monday, July 18.
 

Any students who would like to help with VBC, please contact Kim Cordell. Helpers must be exiting 7th grade to help. The following students are already signed up: Victoria Merritt, Colin Merritt, Amy Burdette, Brooke Gunzelman, Keaton Cordell, Miranda Yannon, and Chastity Dodson.
 
It will be a fun and exciting week. Let’s be ready to give these children a big welcome on Monday!

Shake It Up Cafe (Vacation Bible Camp) needs volunteers July 18-22

Calling all volunteers! We need each of you to help us with Vacation Bible Camp this year. Maybe you can help make decorations at home for the set, maybe you can shepherd a group of kids around for the week, or maybe you can teach in a storytelling, music, craft, or games room. Whatever time you can give and whatever talents you have, WE NEED YOU! Here's a list of opportunities we have: 
 
Decorating Committee (4 people) - We have several ideas, and all work can be done at home. You will be needed at church to help set it up on Sunday, July 17. 
 
Opening Act Team (4 people) - Write the opening skit (about 7 minutes) and help act it out or get actors to help.
   

Registration Team (7 people) - You will be needed on July 18 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. to check kids in and hand out T-shirts. 
 
Snack Coordinator - Gathers the snacks for the VBC kids, using a list we already have. Also, make sure the snacks are passed out to the kids each day of VBC. 
 
Shepherds (14 people) - You will lead your age group of kids around each day to their rotation rooms. You will be needed Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. - Noon. You may specify the age group you would like to work with (Age 3, Age 4, Age 5, Exiting Kindergarten, Exiting 1st Grade, Exiting 2nd grade). 
 

 
This is a great opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to children of Arborlawn and children in our community.
