We begin the new year with such great intentions, but by February many of those resolutions have fallen to the wayside. We know what we need to do, we know who we want to be, but the fact of the matter remains that change is hard. When we encounter our first hurdle or fall short of our own goals, it can be disheartening; and rather than rise to the challenge, we often simply give up.
John Wesley often spoke of Methodists as a people moving on toward perfection, but most of us fall far short of achieving it. In this two-week series (Feb. 3 and Feb. 10, InSearch Worship, 11:11 a.m., Worship Center), we'll explore what it means to be "perfect" and how we might go about becoming the persons God created us to be.
