Bishop Mike Lowry and the Central Texas Conference recently announced the appointment of Rev. Bayard Pratt as Associate Minister to Arborlawn effective October 1. Rev. Pratt has a shared history and deep connections with our congregation.
Born in Ponca City Oklahoma, Bayard moved to Fort Worth when he was very young and attended schools in the Fort Worth ISD. He also grew up in the Westcliff United Methodist Church. He attended Texas Christian University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. He then began seminary at Perkins School of Theology on the SMU campus where he completed his Masters in Theology degree. Prior to his appointment to Arborlawn, Bayard served churches in Fort Worth, Georgetown, Arlington, and Corsicana. While he was an Associate Minister at First UMC Fort Worth, he served on the founding board of Tarrant County’s Habitat for Humanity.
Presently Bayard serves as the past chair of the board of Texas Health Resources Harris HEB and chair of the Community Resource committee Texas Health Resources Harris HEB. Other community service includes serving on the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Committee on Mental Health Tarrant County and Leadership Fort Worth.
