Ken Medema Singing at Arborlawn May 4
Concerts at Arborlawn welcomes Ken Medema on Sunday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. A dynamic musician and inspirational person, Ken Medema was born with limited eyesight. Despite this blindness, Medema developed a keen interest and passion for music from an early age. After taking piano lessons in Braille as a child, he learned how to play by ear and how to improvise, which then led him to study music therapy at Michigan State University with a concentration on performance in piano and voice. Following completion of his Master’s degree, Medema worked as a music therapist until 1973, at which point he began his career as a recording and performing artist. Today, Ken performs all over the country, from local congregations to annual assemblies of national organizations. He and his wife Jane live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ken will be singing in both the 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services on May 4 in addition to the evening concert. This is a free concert.
