“With you we renew our vows to uphold this church through our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness.”
It’s the vow we made when we joined the church and the promise we reaffirm each time we stand with others who join us in our mission and ministry. It’s a vow and promise we make to God, to others, and to ourselves. On October 16, Arborlawn will celebrate Commitment Sunday as we stand together in our mission to make disciples for Jesus Christ.
There is no more critical time in the life of the church. We’ve been blessed by God and given remarkable opportunities to reach out in service and ministry to others. It was never about a building. It’s about building the Kingdom. With the completion of our new facilities, we are now set to begin a new journey of faith and to embrace the bold future God has in store for all of us.
We invite you to step up, step out, and honor the vow you’ve already made to uphold the church through your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness. We also encourage you to go online at ArborlawnUMC.org/give to explore various opportunities to support the ministry of the church.
If you’ve never returned a card or made a commitment in the past for whatever reason, we hope this year you will reconsider. We’re all in this together – every single one of us – and that includes you. We’ve all been blessed. We all struggle with a weak economy. We all made a promise to do everything we could to uphold this church through our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness. That’s all we ask of you; nothing more, nothing less.
The card is now in your hands. Prayerfully consider what you can do to uphold the church through your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness. Please bring the cards or mail them in the enclosed envelope to the church by October 16 for our Commitment Sunday. Thank you for honoring your promise and for all you continue do for the work of Jesus Christ.
