The Fort Worth Baroque Society is singing here Monday, Memorial Day, May 28 at 7:30 p.m. The ensemble will be performing "An American Tapestry of Choral Music by American Composers and Arrangers" featuring the music of Wilberg, Dawson, and Shaw, accompanied by Tracy Carroll, pianist, under the direction of C. Concerts at Arborlawn: three more events this season, including this Sunday during 11 a.m. worship

 
As we conclude this inaugural season of Concerts at Arborlawn, we look forward to the three final concerts featuring Arborlawn's Chancel Choir and The Orchestra at Arborlawn, the Fort Worth Baroque Society, and The Festival Chorus with Jerry Westenkuehler at the organ on July 4.
 
This Sunday, join us during the 11 a.m. worship service as the 130-voice Arborlawn Chancel Choir and The Orchestra at Arborlawn combine in a service with Ralph Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs and Festival Te Deum and In Paradisium by American composer Dan Forrest. Dr. David Robinson joins us as baritone soloist. Stirring orchestral arrangements of hymns by composers Sterling Procter and Dan Goeller complete the morning of worship.

Arborlawn's annual July 4 concert, "A Salute to America," is Wednesday, July 4 at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The night features The Festival Choir, a chorus of singers from our community with Jerry Westenkuehler on the organ; all conducted by Tom Stoker.
 

All singers throughout the area are invited to rehearse with us from 4-6 p.m. dressed in comfortable red, white, and blue. We'll serve the chorus a meal at 6 p.m. before the concert starts at 7 p.m. We hope to fill the platform with singers and overflow the Sanctuary with an audience in this annual Fort Worth favorite. There is no admission charge, and the public is invited.

The Brazos Brass Quintet is a newly founded musical group dedicated to bringing quality performances of great brass music to Dallas/Fort Worth.
   
The BBQ is comprised of Oscar Garcia-Montoya and Jeremy Garnett, Trumpets; David Cooper, Horn; Kyle Mullins, Trombone; and Clay Garrett, Tuba.
 
No tickets are required, but an offering will be received at the door.

Concerts at Arborlawn welcomes the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra as it presents an all-Bach evening in the Sanctuary (5001 Briarhaven Road, Fort Worth, 76109) this Thursday, Feb. 16, at 7:30 p.m.
 
A special highlight of the concert is Bach's Concerto for Two Violins performed by Michael Shih and Swang Lin on the Fort Worth Symphony's two Stradivari violins under the baton of FWSO Conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya. For more background on these special instruments, read a New York Times feature published last week.
 

Programming for the all-Bach concert includes: Overture to Suite No. 3 in D major for Orchestra, BWV 1068; Cantata No. 4, "Christ lag in Todes Banden," BWV 4; Concerto in D minor for Two Violins and String Orchestra, BWV 1043; and Cantata No. 196, "Der Herr denket an uns," BWV 196. The TCU Chorale will join the orchestra in the two cantatas.
 
General admission tickets ($20 for adults and $5 for children) will be available at the concert or can be purchased in advance through the FWSO Ticket Office (817-665-6000, 330 E. Fourth Street).

Coast Guard Glee Club singing here this Saturday at 7 p.m. as part of larger Metroplex tour

 
Concerts at Arborlawn welcomes the United States Coast Guard Academy Cadet Glee Club in a free concert his Saturday night, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
 
The group is in town performing various concerts this week, including stints at the Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo and at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts. Read a report about this tour from The 109.
 
The Glee Club is a select group of 50 men and women chosen from the Corps of Cadets by audition. The group’s director and musical arranger is Dr. Robert G. Newton, Director of Cadet Vocal Music at the United States Coast Guard Academy.

The Glee Club is a select group of 50 men and women chosen from the Corps of Cadets by audition. The group’s director and musical arranger is Dr. Robert G. Newton, Director of Cadet Vocal Music at the United States Coast Guard Academy.
   
The Glee Club has performed at Disneyworld, the Tournament of Roses Parade, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the 2005 Super Bowl, and at numerous Presidential Inaugurations.

Concerts at Arborlawn welcomes the United States Coast Guard Academy Cadet Glee Club. The group is performing a free concert here on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m.
 

The Glee Club is a select group of 50 men and women chosen from the Corps of Cadets by audition. This group specializes in the performance of patriotic music and songs of the sea. The Glee Club’s director and musical arranger is Dr. Robert G. Newton, Director of Cadet Vocal Music at the United States Coast Guard Academy.
 
The Glee Club travels annually to entertain people throughout the country. Appearances have included performances at Disneyworld in Orlando, the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, and the 2005 Super Bowl in Jacksonville. The group has also performed for the Joint Chiefs of Staff as well as at numerous Presidential Inaugurations.

The Wyeth String Quartet was formed in 2004 when their mutual joy and passion for great quartet literature was unleashed. Formerly known as the Fort Worth Symphony String Quartet, the group is comprised of the orchestra’s principal string players. The Wyeth String Quartet has thrilled audiences of all ages with its virtuosic and energetic performances of classical and contemporary chamber music.
 

Today, the quartet continues to build on its reputation with a growing schedule of concert and education performances and an ever-expanding repertoire of interesting and exciting music.
 
Moreover, the Wyeth Quartet strives to nurture the next generation of young musicians through their commitment to music education through concerts and private teaching studios. Members are on the faculties of Texas Christian University and The University of North Texas.
